NEW RESIDENTIAL APPRAISER

Thanks to the continued support of customers like you, we have exciting news to share this month. Spurgeon Appraisals has now welcomed Matt Dutton, a new State Certified Trainee Appraiser, to join our staff. Matt will be in charge of all residential appraisals, working under the oversight of Mason Spurgeon, a General Certified Real Estate Appraiser and the founder of our company. After only two weeks in the office, Matt has shown himself eager to apply what he has learned—and eager to learn more. See the map below for the counties covered by Matt as part of his regular service area. While he usually will not work outside of these counties, he will make exceptions for projects involving multiple properties.

Matt began his career as a journalist. After spending four years as a reporter, he realized that the skills he had gained would serve him well as an appraiser. He entered the appraisal field this year and is currently working to become a Certified Residential Appraiser. His focus is on single- and multi-family residential appraisals for intended uses such as lending, divorces, estate planning and taxes, future sales, and appraisal reviews.  Matt grew up in Monmouth, Illinois and graduated from Monmouth College in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in English. His hobbies include hiking, kayaking and running with his blue heeler. He will also be a contributor to this monthly newsletter.
